Crocodile Load for the League

Davraz Camp (Jul 5th - 17th 2008)

Green Crocodiles yielded to Gençlerbirliği in the first match of the camp: 0 - 1. Mustafa Petenek scored for Gençlerbirliği on min. 80th. Over 100 Bursaspor fans went to the camp place of Bursaspor called "Davraz" and supported their team during even a match of training.
Bursaspor drew with Denizlispor in the second training match of the camp: 1 - 1. On 28th minute Zuniga scored the only goal of the Green Crocodiles. The score of Denizlispor was by Caner on min. 61st.

Austuria Camp (Jul 21st - 31st 2008)

Bursaspor beat V. Branesti -a second division club from Romania league- with two goals scoring: 2 to 1. On min. 43rd Zuniga scored the first goal of the Green Crocodiles. Soon after this goal, Bursaspor scored another with Zuniga again: 2 - 0. In the second half, V. Branesti answered scoring only one goal: 2 -1.
Bursaspor played with Ingolstdat -a first division club from Germany-. During the match both of the teams did no good football and the training match ended draw: 0 -0.
Bursaspor lost 2 - 0 the third training match of the Austuria to FC Treviso -a Serie B team from Italy. On min. 65th Tedeschi and on min. 74th Trotta scored for Treviso.
Bursaspor lost the last training match of the Austuria Camp to AEK Athens: 0 - 1. The only goal of the match was scored by Rivaldo for AEK Athens.

Kartepe Cup

Bursaspor won with three goals the first match of the Kartepe Cup: Bursaspor 3 - 0 Dlyarbakırspor. Two scores by Yusuf and one by Veli Acar brought Bursaspor a victory with a good football.
Green Crocodiles drew with Kayserispor, which is one of the most powerful teams of the Turkish Super League: 3 to 3. Zuniga (13'), İsmail (79') and Gökhan (85') scored for Bursaspor.

Opening Up the 2008 - 2009 Season

For the ceremony of the opening up the 2008 - 2009 season, Bursaspor hosted Galatasaray for a private match. None of the teams could score and the match ended draw: 0 -0. During the match Bursaspor fans made great support that has been talked for days in the mass-media.

BURSASPOR

Bursaspor, established on July 1st 1963, is the football club of Bursa city; its colours are green and white that they resemble the snow which lies on the peak of Uludağ -the highest mountain in the Marmara Reigon where Bursa lies- and the greenness of Bursa Lowland. Bursaspor plays its matches at Bursa Ataturk Stadium which has a capacity of over 20000.
History of Bursaspor
Before the foundation of Bursaspor, there had been five football clubs in Bursa; Akınspor, Acar İdman Yurdu, Pınarspor, Muradiye Çelikspor and İstiklal. The foundation dates of these clubs approximately go back to the first quarter of the 20th century. The disunity in Bursa football came to the end in 1963 when administrators of the five clubs came to the decission of abolishing these seperate football clubs and making a unity in order to form the very only football club of the city -Bursaspor. Today, the different-coloured five stars in the emblem of Bursaspor remain the memories of these five football clubs.

TEXAS - The Fiery Supporters of Bursaspor

As famous as Bursaspor itself, supporters of Bursaspor are well-known in all around Turkey; almost everyone interested in football knows the fanatics group of Bursaspor which is called Texas. The Texas does its job at the southern covered behind-goal grandstand of Bursa Atatürk Stadium. The name Texas has an interesting story. In 1967, Bursaspor supporters go to Zonguldak, for an away match of Bursaspor versus Zonguldakspor. Bursaspor fans show great interest to the match, thousands of people set out to Zonguldak; long and long convoys amaze even the police. This is the first time that so many supporters go away for a match in an organized way in Turkey. Police officers say "Are this convoys from Texas?", "This must be a Texas convoy!" as Western movies had a crazy popularity in the 60s. With this match, Bursaspor fanatics become famous with the agnomen "Texas". It is that the name "Texas" was not deliberately chosen by the Bursaspor fans; they were named "Texas".
